european-athletics.org: European indoor champions Ariane Friedrich and Ivan Ukhov will open their winter seasons at the 6th Moravia High Jump Tour in Hustopece, Czech Republic, on Saturday.
Both athletes are meet record holders, with German Friedrich jumping 2.00m in 2009 and Russian Ukhov 2.36m in 2008.
Berlin 2009 bronze-medal winner Friedrich will be challenged by Helsinki 2005 medallist Chaunte Howard-Lowe of the U.S. and Berlin 2009 finalist Svetlana Shkolina of Russia.
